Laywan was born and raised in Maryland. She went to school in California, trained as an architect, and is living and working as a graphic designer in New York City. Her work has been featured in The Huffington Post, Print Magazine, Casual Optimist, Literary Hub, Electric Lit, Spine Magazine, SheDesignsBooks, Paste Magazine, and other publications.
