Joan worked at Penguin Random House where she designed covers for Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, H.G. Wells, Samantha Irby, and Jonathan Lethem. She’s also a frequent collaborator with the New York Times, the New Yorker, and The Atlantic, helping to illustrate current events and think pieces about the world as it is today.
She splits her time between Brooklyn, New York, and cities abroad. In 2018, she curated and illustrated a collection of online stories called “Sister Life” about lives that could have been. JoWoHo is the home of Joan’s book cover designs, editorial illustrations, and occasional visual explorations.
