Grace Han is an Associate Art Director at Riverhead Books, an imprint at Penguin Random House. She joined Helen Yentus‘ Riverhead team as a junior designer in 2013.
Grace has designed for incredibly successful authors including Lauren Groff, Chang Rae-Lee, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Emma Straub. Her cover for My Year Abroad (by Rae-Lee) won a Gold Award from the Type Director’s Club in 2022.
Her jacket designs are regularly selected for awards, in end-of-year roundups, and by cover appreciation blogs. She has also created several illustrations for the New York Times.
She was featured on the Penguin blog in 2017 and then again in 2022. She spoke with The Avocado Diaries in 2021. She discussed the creation process of designing Real Life and Infinite Country with Spine Mag.
In 2018, Grace shared the stage with Ingsu Liu, Lauren Panepinto, and Christopher Sergio, all discussing their respective works as part of the TDC’s Book Nite. You can rewatch that talk here.
